Ok, I got 16 turkeys from cackle hatchery 5-16. 8 black Spanish and 8 blue slate. Within the first day 5 of the black Spanish died. The 2nd day another black Spanish died leaving me with 2 black Spanish and the 8 blue slate. Everything seemed alright, but then Wednesday last week one of the blue slate turkeys was standing around all droopy winged and seemingly very tired like the black Spanish had right before Keeling over dead... I fed the sickly blue slate some egg yolk which it was not at all interested in and the next morning it was dead like the black Spanish before it. Very prominent keel, standing off by itself slowly starving to death. Saw no blood in the stools but everyone said get some corid. So Thursday I went and got some corid and started adding it to the drinking water. In the broader there are 18 chicks 5 brown leghorns from cackle that arrived with the turkeys and 13 I hatched from my own flock. They have all been getting the corid since thursday. Everyone was doing great until yesterday I noticed one of the remaining black Spanish turkeys was standing off in death pose again... then tonight he is still alive but one of he blue slate is also doing it. I fed them both some mash made with their food some corid, an egg,and a dash of sugar water...I basically open their beak and smooth a little on their tongue and wait for them to swallow. They both also ate maybe 2 bites on their own from my hand... I have brought them both inside for further inspection and the blue slate is doing worse than the black Spanish but they are both gasping, very lethargic and will not eat unless I rub it in their mouths.
Also after starting the corid my chicks started having bloody poops solid, but with a tiny bit of blood. The blue slate turkey just pooped on my lap and it was very watery with a tiny bit of blood. So somebody please help me not lose these turkeys. Should I move all the turkeys to a different brooder? Anything would help. Here they are
Excuse Excuse the disheveled appearance of the blue slate. She is wearing a good bit of egg yolk
