Please suggest breed

I'm not sure if anyone said this already but I say Australorps! Best chickens ever...I bet! Planning to get them myself!

Sounds like a Buckeye would fit all of those criteria, except autosexing.
Calm, large, dark, birds with good hardiness for Wisconsin winters. Small combs, clean legs, healthy birds.
Lay long into the winter.

What about Chanteclers? From what I've read here on BYC, they are good with cold environments, fairly broody and friendly. Here's a review on them:

Welsummers are average egg layers, producing around 160 eggs each year

On the negative side, these birds can be noisy! They are the ones who shout the loudest when they feel the mood upon them or something is upsetting them

Welsummers can be very noisy. Drives me crazy sometimes.

Winters do get very cold here, sometimes up to -20 celsius (-68 far.), so, hardy birds would be welcomed.

-20 C is only -4 F. That's still pretty cold.

Why don't you get a few Leghorns

Leghorns are white and not that big.

Rhode Island Red:
we've had very limited experience, but the few hens we have had have been more aggressive than most other breeds. Cocks are especially notorious.
