Please Take a look at my Peacocks eye,

I will post a close up pic tomorrw cause I have to go to work today. But yes his eye looks exactly the same. The crest grew back on all but the badly cut white one. So it is a 50/50 shot that the crests will grow back. All depends on how badly the fan cut them up. Either way the bird should be fine and will still breed for you.

Joe.G.....I was asked to respond to this thread regarding your peahens eye. First of all, I know nothing about peafowl.
However IMO, you're not dealing with a respiratory problem/disease with the swollen eye, you never mentioned any other respiratory symptoms that the bird may have. I dont recommend giving your peahen any medications at all.
You stated that her head was picked/pecked on before you got her. She was simply pecked hard in the corner of her eye causing the swelling, much like water on the knee. I had a hen that the same thing happened to her eye. I wrapped her in a towel and used a syringe with a needle and punctured the inner eyelid where the small marble size swelling was located. As soon as it was punctured, clear liquid shot out relieving the swelling. I then put neosporin ointment in her eye for the next 3 days, she quickly recovered and I released to go about her business. Hope this helps and good luck.

Thanks Dawg53, Yeah I don't think He needs any Meds,I also don't see any swelling, I don't want to give meds if it is not needed, The Guy I got him from is meeting tom and giving me a Black Shoulder Male, I'll also be keeping this Male since I do feel bad for him and he is very sweet, Comes to me and all.

I don't think I should try and drain anything, I don't see anything to drain, Do you in the pic's?

Dawg53 I also sent you a PM, A week ago or so, I think I may have gotten it answered but maybe you can look and throw in your advice. Thanks again for all of your help.

I'm so glad to hear that your boy is OK; thank goodness Yoda saw this thread.
It definitely sounds like he doesn't need any meds, which is great.

He probably just needs good food, attention, and love!
And it's wonderful that you're going to keep him, he sounds like a real sweetheart.
Peas are so endearing...and all of my favorites here have something a bit unique about them, just like your guy.

I had the breeder look at the bird, It does appear to be a defect from birth, I don't see any scar tissue and the eye does not look swelled and the bird seems to be doing fine.

It seems that Peafowl seem to have more eye/sinus issues then other Birds, I wonder why that is.
I don't know...none of my 5 seem to have any problems with those issues. They are just as healthy as the day is long, if you'll excuse the expression. Even with their issues with frostbite, because of the previous owner, mine have never shown any indication of respiratory issues.

Other than my histomoniasis related problems, mine have been very healthy and have never had any type of eye/sinus problem. Knock on wood!
