Please tell me about your experiences with Purina Starter/Grower

Flock Raiser for the babies?? I was told that Chick Starter/Start & Grow has the protein and other stuff in it that the babies need....? Yes? No?

In some areas, this is the only non-medicated feed available that doesn't have extra calcium for layers. It does have 20% protein like a typical chick feed and is labeled for all ages.

And ditto the others who suggested that it's an illness, not the feed. Yes, GI illness can cause all sorts of issues including failure to absorb nutrients in feed. That's not the feed's fault.

A lot of thought and research goes into all Purina products. They set the standards and the others follows! Hands down Purina products are the best!

Purina chicken feed at any stage of chicken growth is a really good product. I use nothing except Purina. My chicks get medicated starter til 3 months old. Then they advance to flock raiser or laying crumbles as appropriate and scratch feed as a treat and during winter. I have never had disease in my flock. Purina costs a little more, but a flock illness would cost much more. My chickens are happy and healthy and hold beautiful feather. I highly recommend it. I recently talked my Dad into using it because he said his chickens looked "sickly".
