Please tell me if I'm right 2 hens and a roo??? SILKIES

I only have 1 with a red/purple comb and red / purple wattles and I'm sure he's a he at 13 weeks. I have 2 black silkies which are female at 23 weeks and they have the rod stewart poof... not even half the poof my white female has at 32 weeks.

So I hope the 23 week old ones aren't roos. Yet not of them crow, they just bump chests and run from my 13 week old roo. I just don't think they were breeded well. My buffs are gorgeous though... I'm thrilled I got a roo so I can breed them.

Though, its the second buff I'm not so sure about yet?!

That blue one just has to be a girl! She is nice! And the splash one? How lucky!!!! Girl. If I remember, she has a really big vaulted skull!!

I love that first picture of the boy. Looks like he is playing a game with himself!

He looks fairly small too, which is good.

I think I am going to have to buy some hatching eggs from you if you sell any.

I know this is a REALLY old post... but it's helpful as I'm going tomorrow to pick out some Silkies from a lady nearby!! I loved the pictures by the way!

We have 6 silkie chicks that are 6 weeks old now and ALL have spiky feathers sticking up on their heads. We are worries that this is a sign that they may be roosters since ALL our other silkies that are hens had vaulted skulls and rounded heads. Does anyone know about this?? I know it is very hard to sex silkies to begin with but there are a few things that may help such as the spiky hair. Although I thought that because all our other silkies are white and the new baby chicks are partridge and buff maybe that has something to do with it??? Please let me know your thoughts!

I doubt spiky hair right now on 6 week old babies is anything to be too worried about. I have five and six week old silkies too, and they ALL look like they belong in a punk rock band. The hair is crazy right now. I'd say give them time to really feather in before you panic. That is what I am doing

I have 3 six week old silkies that are all sporting the pink hair do so far. Too early to tell or are these gals roosters?
