Please tell me my sons dominique pullet isn't a cockerel!!!

Here are some photos of our dominique and our Barred Rock pullets. The barred rock is not in question here, only the dominique. They are both 4 weeks old. The dominique's comb has just started to turn a little pink, and her tail is longer than the barred rock's tail.

At 1 1/2- 2 weeks old. The dominique is on your left.



Although not displayed in the above photo, fuzzy had very dark legs and toes, and a perfectly small and round white spot on it's head.
Now at 4 weeks old- the dominique is the one with the longer tail in the back.

If it is a boy we'll need to find him a home before we get anymore attached. We live in the city and it's illegal to have a rooster.

leg color says pullet but the redness i see says cockerel...wait till they are at least 6 weeks for a more accrate guess

Ooops, they are 5 weeks old, not 4. I don't know if it makes a difference or not.

I think pullet, but as stated you'll just have to wait and see. Let your kids know this bird may not be a keeper, just in case.

6 weeks- here you can see the pale comb forming above the red base.

The comb is not this red. The little piece of comb sticking up here is completely pale. It's just the base of the comb that is pink.

I do not know about the gender, but I am amazed that your dog is so good with them, my dog wants to eat my pullets.

Thanks to those who helped or tried to help. We are going to try to find this one a home since I have a hunch that it is a rooster.
