PLEASE tell me what my silkie is

I think it's a girl, too. What is it's behavior? Does it "strut", hold it's neck out like it's listening for something? I have a 20 month old cockerel that has streamers and is starting to get his "roo" tail, but still chirps and tries to hide under his female silke friend (half the size, same age) and is scared to death of all the other chickens. The only behavior he exibhits that is cockerel like is his stance.

Not sure. Check spacing between pelvic bones--wider and more loosely connected is a girl, narrow spacing and more rigid connection is a boy. But even that is not absolute at this age. You really need more time for maturing.

My entire gut screams at me its a boy, judging by the leg size its stance, it looks at you like what are you doing? Like it might be getting a male attitude..... It doesnt help that it has such a small crest, and boys can have small combs for quite a while. I have a black roo that I swore was a girl for MONTHS, its not, and the comb sprung up practically overnight.

Well, s/he doesn't strut at all. Very docile, a little bit of a drama queen (Nothing like my RIR though..He screams bloody murder when I pick him up and complains the entire time if I have to carry him anywhere)
The Silkie is in the middle of the pecking order I think but does not bully or run from the other 2. S/he just kinda minds her own business.

I say girl! I have 3 blues that are the same age - and I am sure of two of their sexes - one is a roo - he has been getting waddle development for a few weeks - but not too much comb...YET - but his stance and attitude scream roo....

Yours to me says girl - little bitty comb - no waddles - i dont see any streamers or the tell tale hackle/saddle feathers and you haven't pointed out any typical roo behaviors you might have noticed....

Also she looks like my 2nd silkie I'm pretty darn sure is a girl - then of course theres my #3 whom i am undecided - and its like smack in the middle of possibilities

G'luck! Seems everyone is agreeing to disagree on the sex - aren't silkies wonderful? LOL what other breed makes you play the hope and guess game for SO long!?!? They're lucky they are cute!
