PLEASE tell me what this is ANYBODY

My husband was outside working on the new coop. He called me out out and is like what is this. One of the chickens pooped on one of the boards. Here is a picture of whatever it is. Does anyone know??? We thought maybe it was a developing baby chick. Could it be some of the insides of one of my chickens? HELP please

I don't see a pic, but I just read a thread on a hen laying something called a 'lash'. It looks like an ovary or an internal organ. You may want to google it and see if that's what is going on in your case. From what I understand 'lashes' are normal but not common, and are harmless.

It looks like that's what it could be. Are all of your hens otherwise healthy? If so, it's probably that.
