Hi all
so we have 2 peachicks they're a pair weve been lucky with. This is our first time raising peafowl and i dont know but the boy seems off hes always puffed up and walks around like this on the photo- hes the one on the right. He has been treated for coccid but maybe i needed to prelong treatment ? As i did cut it short as he seemed a little better.
The girl however is doing great shes got a wild character.
Also is it just me or are they quite small for their age? Sorry maybe im paranoid but i want them to be raised well and healthy. We got them round August 26th when they were already 2 weeks old. So they should be now round 12-13 weeks old?

I would offer advice if I could, but I know nothing about peafowl. Have you also posted in the peafowl forum?

As far as the medical treatment, I always try to give the medicine for the full time prescribed, even when my birds appear to be recovered. I figure it's like when humans are supposed to take the full regimen of antibiotics, even when they feel better.

I hope someone who knows how to help you responds soon. Best wishes with your lovely birds.

What are you feeding them?
Feed thats got a mixture of different seeds, mealworms, rice, pasta, veggies like lettuce, and obviously whatever else they get from foraging aswell. But id say when we first started them off they would only eat mealworms which i heard is only really supposed to be like a treat for them rather than thwir actual feed so we stopped that and were giving them or trying to give them a variety of foods

Do they forage inside your house or do they live go outside too?
Can you not but a pelleted or crumbled feed for them?
