So when I got up this morning my husband told me that we had lost two chicks. One was the sickly one that I knew wouldn't make it, but the other one had seemed perfectly healthy.... weird. Anyway, it's much better than I thought given the rate they were dying before I got them, so we are still ahead of the game
As far as Brutus, he is together with everybody and doing some eye pecking but not as bad as he was. It's just too hard to keep him isolated. I had a piece of cardboard but they knocked it over during the night like I suspected they might. I do wish that I had some bigger chicks to put him in with so that he would learn a lesson. That's what they had done at
TSC, and he managed to survive while he was in with them. Oh well, I will continue to keep an eye on things and keep everybody up to date. Man I can't believe their appetites!!! I had bought a small bag of
Manna Pro chick starter crumble, and they absolutely love it. Of course they do, since it's more expensive
It's almost like it's slightly moist and I am sure it is much easier for them to eat verses what they were getting in the store (very dry, big crumble).
