I really wish that you had read the whole thread before making a one sided comment about the intentions of the OP.. I am soo glad that your park takes care of their birds but seeing as these are dumped feral geese then the city does not own them.... Maybe finish reading before sticking your foot in your mouth....

If someone dumps geese on my place, I own them. What's the difference of the city owning them? There are some GORGEOUS muscovies by me, and I want them really badly, but I kinda think I would be stealing if I took them.

Thats your peception of it .. In my mind if someone illegally dumps domestic animals in a public place then it is my responsibilty as a concerned animal lover to save that animal from possible predation, sickness..etc... also at the same time protecting the Native (i.e..supposed to be there) animals as well....

After reading all over the internet including here, I'm really glad I accepted Josephine's voluntary retirement from her own city park life. I can't imagine what might have happened to her if she'd approached the wrong person and taken one of her goose nibbles to them. I really don't get people dumping pets. I've had a parakeet as a pet who flew in the window of a friend's house. They had parakeets and we guess Poco wanted family. We put out ads in the paper but who knows if he escaped or got turned out. People are creeps sometimes.

So good luck on getting "your" pets back, Bleenie!

I just wanted to point out another side to this. I agree with all of you on the dumping thing and I'm rooting for Bleenie. You also after remember that if it wasn't for people like Bleenie picking up after other people the laws would be way more strict on what you can own. I mean look at the Muscovy duck issue. They are trying to outlaw you as a owner being able to own them...Why? Because of all the so and so's that insist on dumping their extras, they are destroying environment that wild animals need and they breed like rabbitts(I love my Muscovys
