PLS HELP!!! Hen cant control her head or keep it up right PLS HELP!!!!!!!!!!

I would like you to look up threads on Newcastle Disease and Marek's Disease.

How old is your hen?

Have you brought in any new birds?

Changes in feed?

What were your roosters symptoms?

If your hen passes, have a necropsy done. Most states have labs that will do them for little to no cost. Look up your local government extension office..they should be able to point you in the right direction.

the rooster died of heat stroke he was a black silkie and its been getting 106 + here everyday with out rain so he didnt really die from any sickness just heat.

shes doesnt have mareks or new castle thats the first thing i always check when my chickens get sick

not sure how old i got her last year shes one of my first chickens if i had to guess her age i would say 2 to 3 years old. havent change the feed same old stuff that she loves lol and no new birds in a long time been about 5 months since i got new birds im hatching out ducks only have a few chickens for eggs and sometimes ppl like to have some my EE's babies

May I ask how you know by looking that it isn't one of these diseases?

Your hen is experiencing most of the symptoms of both of those diseases. I'm not trying to second guess you, just trying to learn what you know.

i do alot of research on the disease and watch the sick chicken very close i'll put her in a basket right next to me at all times since saterday she hasnt shown the main signs of mareks or new castle. i look of pictures and videos just to make sure the only signs that she shown that same as the two is the head throw back or to the side she doesnt have wing or leg paralysis just in her head neck area doesnt have any scaps her comb and wattles are nice and red no signs of skabs white bumps or pale skin her eyes r clear her breathing is perfect i listen to her chest everytime i feed or water her her eyes a clear no discharge from the nose like in new castle the only real problem she has now is she cant control her head keeps going to the right or she'll turn it around and tuck it under her wing and i dont think shes meaning too

Over the past year I've lost 40+ birds to Marek's. Not all of them had leg or wing paralysis. None of them had eye problems. Some of them just died..on necropsy, it was found as Marek's. I have had 5 or more chickens die from the exact same symptoms that you are describing...and, it was definitely Marek's. I have a pullet that is about 13 weeks old, right now, that has the same symptoms. She will be euthanized since it is getting worse and I will send her in for necropsy...just to make sure that I'm not dealing with both Newcastle and Marek's. Most of the information that I have read on Newcastle says that the chickens do not need to show all the symptoms since there are different types. One type is the neck involvement and the green poo...

im not saying im 100% right but never had mareks problem before most time when i have chicken die its weather related or CRD which i have taken chickens to vets for that i also have my chickens with turkeys i heard they keep mareks disease away? is that not true?

If your turkey has had Turkey Marek's or in some other way has immunity to the disease then, yes, it could provide passive immunity on to the chickens. I'm not sure how strong the immunity would be or if it would be enough of an immunity to fight an actual infection with Marek's.

do u think i need to coll her or keep trying to heal her like i said the only problem shes having right now is the head thing keeps going to the right her poop is back to normal shes eatting better i still have to feed her myself but shes taking it alot better if i drop something or make some type of sound she'll open her eyes to see what im doing
