Haha, I think your really going to like the Speckled Sussex. It was my first breed and the one I have now is my best bird. She find a way to alert us when something is wrong like a predator (she came to the backdoor and would leave until we followed her back where we found 8 dead chickens. She is a hero, if she hadn’t come that night something would have taken the rest) and she is very smart. She is also a fighter, she was very sick recently with a jumble of things but she held on and she’s very strong now! She’s a 3 year old girl, used to be a great layer (sickness stopped her laying we think) about 250 eggs a year! I really love her and I hope you love you girl to!YAY!! Im really pleased with this selection considering this was when we just went into lockdown & we drove up to the Back of the store & the chicks were put in the back seat. Hahaha! Sight unseen...
