Pls help me save my sons tiny bantam

I have a tiny bantam that we got last Fri. She has seemed fine until this morning. She is very vocal so i always hear her. This morning i walk in & she is just laying & another chick goes over to peck her. I figured she was sleeping so i brushed others away which usually wakes her. But this time she didn't get up. She will chirp when u hold her but seems very weak. When placed on her back she struggles to b flipped back over on tummy. I checked for pasty butt but found nothing. I just dnt want her to die. My 6yr old picked her out & bought her with his own money. Any suggestions? Sugar water?

She didn't make it. By the time I took kids to school and got right back she was already so weak that she would open her mouth but no sound came out. I tried to give her some water with Sav-A-Chick in it but she would just shake her head. Then she just passed away in my hands

It looked like her bottom was a little wet but no poop. Just looked like water. I don't know what happened but I def don't want my Silky, Sultan or Easter Eggers to die. I cleaned a new tote and put fresh bedding and food and water in it, then moved them to it until I can sanitize the other one. Its just so sad and I'm praying that my baby don't cry when he gets home and run to see his baby and she isn't there.

I'm so sorry for batman. do you think it could have been cocci? or coccidosis... with cocci they act very tired and get ruffled feathers sleep a lot. you can treat cocci with Corid. Corid kills all strains of cocci while other meds only kill some. look up coccidosis and see if symptoms match. keep in mind bloody poo isn't always present. It was fine last night and active like usual. Just noticed it very sluggish this morning and wouldn't get up. Where do I get the Corid? She was in a brooder with a few others but they are all eating and chirping and moving around good.

if you need the corid you can get it at feed lot. but sometimes they just don't make it for what ever reason kind of like failure to thrive. sadly some just don't make it and nature takes its course.if you don't see signs of cocci like tiredness lethargy ruffled feathers not eating ect. no need to treat with corid. you can however use a medicated chick starter that helps percent cocci.I raised mine on medicated chick starter and thank God they are doing well. I think in my humble opinion it helps. good luck with your flock and best wishes.

They are def on medicated chick starter. I had regular chick starter left from when my other set got older but I went out and got the medicated kind for the new babies.
