Plucked tail feathers

I tried to put her back in but some started to peck at the spot so I took her back out.

The run is 10’x30’ and the coop is 4’x8’.

Thanks for your help.

I would consider expanding the run. I know it is more than the minimum space, but chickens get bored. And they fight and pick feathers when bored. You could try adding some activities, dirt baths, and roosts to your run.

I would get some pine tar and put that on that bare area around the injured preen gland. Also as @janiedoe mentioned, add more clutter to your run to make it more appealing. I have branches secured to the wall for perches, stump arrangements, lots of wood chips to dig through, an old chair. You can also add pallets leaning against the run walls, whatever you can find that the chickens might like getting behind or flying up on. You need lots of activities to do and lots of distractions.
