Plucker chronicles with heritage birds

It's ok the biggest things I grew this year were weeds.. some of them were 6 feet tall(no that was not planned) so we managed to harvest a few potatoes and a few squash. Try again next year right?
Yes! I got tons of tomatoes and herbs that's about it. Think it was just too hot for everything else. I'm thinking about doing all herbs next year. Chickens love eating herbs that are fresh and so don't my dogs.

Just wanted to share my experience with the “yard bird” plucker. Great unit with no complaints. Easy to clean. Does the job in under 30 seconds. I usually did one at a time. The bird would get stuck sometimes but I quickly grabbed and pulled it up and no ill effects from it. I did probably close to 40 birds in the 4-6 lb range. Highly recommend, priced fair.

Wonderful! Have you ever tried it with turkeys? We are raising quite a few so I had to try and get a plucker to help with butchering turkeys.... thank you for the feedback!

Aart you know I am mostly technically challenged....

I did find reviews on Amazon that were positive but not any mentions on plucking a turkey.

I have not had the chance to use it on Turkeys yet. I suspect it will do ok on birds up to about 20lbs.
I think I will likely need to rearrange the turkey several times while in the plucker but that is fine by me. I purchased with the main use being chickens which it does well. Anything above that will be a plus. I do not see it doing 35lb birds but then again I would not grow one that big to begin with so its a non issue for me. I will post when I do end up doing a Turkey but it will not likely be until next year sometime.
