I found a homeade plucker on craigslist the guy was honest with me he told me the pulley was broke and its been sitting outside with out cover. We reached an agreement on 700 but I cant tell if there something wrong with the motor because it wont run with the broken pulley. Any ideas for me anyone.

Did you use a ohm meter to make sure you don't have any open windings? If so then the next thing to check is to see if the sleeve bearings are froze up. You should be able to spin the shaft of the motor even if the pulley is broke. $700 sounds a might high for a broke pig in a poke though. Is the tub made properly? Go here and get a new one for $880 plus shipping.

700 is slightly more than I paid for a brand new stainless steel EZ Plucker. That had better be a fancy plucker to be worth $700 while it is broken and needs parts replaced.

Also, I would be very worried about an electric motor that has been sitting out in the weather with no cover to protect it. Those rubber plucking fingers will have deteriorated if they have been exposed to sunlight. Sunlight rots rubber.

really ? A very effective plucker can be fashioned from a few hard rubber bungie cords and attached to a portable drill

i just looked at the "plucker " for $525.00 are you kidding me ? a half dozen hard rubber bungie cords attached to the inside of a washer basket will clean any bird you can process and cost less than $50.00

Please ! you can fashion a very effective plucker from a half dozen hard rubber bungie cords cut in half and attached to the inside of a used washing machine and process the birds on the spin cycle !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! why waste money ??????????????/

if you want I can build one and ship it free for $525.00 or $425.00 or $325.00 or $225.00 or just build it yourself for $50.00.....................
