Plucker

We were really blessed to find the "Duck Naked Plucker" from Cabelas being sold in the county classifieds for $50 by someone who'd won it at a dog trial and had no use for it. Really easy to use.

Here i am, Johney come lately..
better late than never..

I have two drum type pluckers that have their own legs to stand on.. If you use one, you will never want to pluck by hand again.. I would rather spend the time cleaning mine up ... it only takes 5 minutes or less..

as far as dry plucking goes....
You still have to do the wings and tail by hand if you use a machine.. also, dry feathers fly all over the place.. wet feathers fall onto an easy to pick up pile, or into a bucket.

I have a large tub that I stick the hind legs of the plucker inside.. when I am finished, I lift the plucker up and most of the feathers are inside the tub.

........jiminwisc.......

I have to wonder how well would a plucker work for a cornish rock? Anyone process cornish rocks as meat birds, or what breed do you prefer that works best?
