Plymoth verses barred rock

I've got 3 more that are pipped and one of my olive eggs working on pipping. I'm excited to see what I get. Just worried I might get all barred rocks since most of the eggs were tan/tanish pink
Lots of breeds lay brown. Plus, nothin wrong with BR!

Dominique cockerels (if it's pure) will be light in colour, as they get only one barring gene. Pullets will be darker.
Spot should work too.
It's the pullets that only get one barring gene. Males can have one or 2. The males that have 2 barring genes are the ones that are lighter in color.

I love the hens. Wont have a rooster again. Those have been the only ones that have ever attacked me
Well, even within a breed, it depends on the bird. Lots of BRs are lovely and sweet guys.
Much of it is management.

I kept mine the same way as any of my other roosters. 2 different barred rocks have left scars on me.

Not saying they are all bad, just not wanting to try again.
