Ok yall after looking at the pics of the young roo I need to see what yall think about one of my chicks. I think after looking at them I think my chick maybe a roo. Here are a few pics of her\him. Its about 4 weeks old here.


And just for my little one legged chick here she is doing great.

Working on getting better lacing on my blues, among other things. I am finding that the older they get, the lighter the lacing gets, so you have to start with super heavy lacing to end up with anything when mature. This one has the heaviest lacing at that age that I have so far. I dont know how much she'll have when she's fully mature.

Vette, it is at the stage it is hard to tell. I would make the arguement that comb is yellow and smaller than a roo. Someone else will say comb is too big for a pullet. Then someone will say you can see the wattles coming in. With all that said, I say it is a pullet. In next 2 weeks you will know for sure.

Yah same with me. I have 4 barred rock chicks about the same age. One pecks me alot so im not sure if that means he is a male. Here he is.

The dark barring is the result of him only having one copy (allele) of B so he's heterozygous barred or henny colored. Two copies of BB barring which full blood BR males are makes them have a more silver barred look and some what narrower, more crisp, sharper barring then females also, too.
