WillC - that seems like a nice bird for hatchery stock! Do you have a way to weigh her? I'd LOVE to know what she weighs! Incidentally, mine are very quiet layers as well. Maybe that's par for the breed.

There is a first time for everything! I will try to get her on a scale this weekend.

Very large show three halls with over 7000 birds.

LF barred uncarded but a very good all round bird

Barred cockerel bantam

Pullet uncarded which was very unlucky

Buff trio red card very nice type and colour

For those of us in the states, what does "uncarded" mean? What is red carded?

Thanks for sharing your pictures with us. Did you see the big Barred Rocks shown by the Sectary of the Rhode Island Red Club at this show?

He has sent pictures of them to me off and on. The standard for Rocks in England is different so dont be to harsh on these birds. I am sure they are breed very closely to their standard. The buff bantams have the best buff color I have seen. There is a friend of mine who has some English Buff Rock Bantams in New Hampshire. I often wonder if they still have the nice color as the current English Buff Bantams of today. Great view of the show Hall.
