She is so mean to the flock, but I still love her.

She's so cute!!:)

This evening I went outside to spend some time with my girls before it was time to put them in the run for the night. I was sitting on my chair out there, and my RIR Nibbles cam to sit on my lap and get her love. It isn't unusual for either of my RIRs to come sit on my lap. But after Nibbles left, Frances my new BR came over. She was clucking softly to me and I was talking to her. She hopped up on the egg crate I had my feet on and I could tell she really wanted to jump up on my lap. I talked to her gently and patted my lap and up she flew onto my lap! My RIRs I hand raised since they were tiny chicks, but Frances I have literally had a week and she came from a farm where they were a source of food and income, they weren't pets. Not that they were treated poorly mind you. But they were loved on. I was so excited that she feels comfortable enough after just a week to come seek me out for her attention. I just love my BR! I might need more!!!

I would like to begin raising and breeding white plymouth rocks. Where does one get the pure breed stock to begin? Have been raising chickens for about a year and have buff orphington, barred rock, rhode island red, and a white rock hen and rooster. These are all hatchery birds. My favorites are the white rocks and think it will be an enjoyable and educational pass time to breed pure white rocks. Any information you can give will be appreciated.

Here: The Plymouth Rock Breeders thread

Jump on board and read before the thread gets too huge. LOL Lots of interest in a brand new thread. Weaver's Rocks will fix you right up and he posts regularly on the thread.

It would be helpful to know where you are located so we can point you to someone as close as possible

This is Roxie at 3wks old. She's not so much loving being held yet, but she is the first to jump right into my hand lol I can't wait til she's fully feathered! (and no there isn't anything wrong with her leg. I had just set her down on the table for like the tenth time 'cause she kept wanting to fly off the table when I was trying to take her picture. I snapped the pic, while she was still getting her footing)
