This is my only SPR and I am trying to get more from Mr.Horstman. Please everyone tell me what you think. I am new to grading chickens. She is 19 weeks old. We had eagles in the area so they could not come out i had to hold her for pictures.
SR, that would be great, to be able to see them side by side.
One thing I have noticed different from my line in comparing them to PEI's line - the PEI pullets seem to have more black on the head than my line does - they all have it. All but one that I have still have one more juvie molt to go through, so I am closely watching to see if these black feathers will be molted out. So interesting.
Hi RainyDayChicken I agree with PEI as you do have a nice SPPR pullet that will improve over the next few months.
Do any of the other varieties of rocks (besides Barred) have the little signs of gender as young chicks (like the more distinct head spot and dark leg was on Barred rock pullets). I know even with the Barred it's not 100% - just wondering if any of the other varieties have these little things that allow an educated guess?
