On second look, does the second male have white legs? If so, I would think twice before using him for breeding. And for the barreds, the first male did pop out at me compared to the other two.

Thanks David

Will send you pix via PM of the 2 that didn't make cut

One had very "droopy" tail. The other is very small, but will let you take a look. I need all the help I can get!!!!

Rock N' Faverolles I have a question for you I noticed a partial primary feather that has a white tip on my Partridge Rock roo he's only 7 months should I cut it then pick it and see what comes back....he's my favorite but the #2 the other one had a partial white feather on his chest but it's gone.....

I would cut it and pull it like you say. If it grows back with a white tip then its up to you what you do. You know the status of your breeding. If you think it is most likey to improve your line than use it, hatch a bunch and keep only the ones without the white, and do not go back to him for breeding. If you think #2 is just about as good, then use him. White like that can be caused by damage to the feather when it is coming in. If that's the case then it isn't genetic and I'd have no problem using him for breeding. I hope that answered your question and didn't confuse you. If it did, let me know and I'll try to simplify my answer.

BTW - I am fighting REALLY light yellow legs on all my Columbian Rock Roos....the NO BAND boy and the ORANGE BAND boy have better leg color

The only thing you can do is breed what you have and cull hard. In enough generations you'll have bright yellow legs and hardly any with white legs. Another thing to watch for on the males is that high tail. Its a hard fault to breed out as well, but it can be done. That is why I said I liked the second male best. But with tails you have to make sure they're not pinched but full and have a good spread on it.
