My hatchery birds lay very well best place to order is Privett or Welp who drop ships from Privett....they are smaller than my other Rocks but lay nice big brown eggs and have good partridge color if you hatch I have eggs they've been shipping well but right now for you I don't know if it's too cold.

i would like to hatch some eggs but don't have a broody right now nor an incubator, so i'm going the hatchery route this time.

I have some new pics of my little roo. What do people think of him now? He's around 8wo in these pics.
Is that split breast? Or does it just look odd because he's taking forever to grow all his feathers?
I'd planed to get some girls for him because I really like him but I don't want to breed him if he has a serious fault.

Very nice blue rock. Is Halo the only people you can get good blue rocks from? I dont want Hatchery Stock ?

In regards to laying of Partridge Rocks its hard to say. There are only maybe 75 real Partridge Rocks that I know of in our Club by our members. By looking at the most of them I would say the might lay poor to fair.

Now Hatchery Production Partridge Rocks you may get the same as you do with Production Hatchery Barred Rocks. They are breed for one thing and that is to produce eggs that will hatch.

Hope this helps. Good Partridge Rocks are so hard to find.

Took a couple of pics of a young blue roo; he's the only one so far to make the cut, it's difficult to get a good one. This is the only one Ive hatched out of dozens of baby roos that had solid yellow legs. He's not perfect, but I think he's good enough to go to the next step. He's still not fully mature, he's about 8 months old. I do want to hatch out some blacks, and need a blue roo to do that.

Good work Halo. He is a good male and your females I really like. See if you can put my friend down for a couple of dozen eggs this spring from Tenn. I will forward his name to you in a private message. These eggs would help him by five years to start a new line of Blue Rocks. I will send his name to you in a private message. Bob Sec Rock Club.

Here is a question I've pondered. Would it be a positive thing to breed blues to a good heritage barred rock to improve type? Or would it only complicate the issue for the blues and be a loss of a good br?

Cheryl will be here in a couple hours to pick up my Silver penciled rock girls. She's going to be breeding them, so I offered them to her. (felt selfish keeping such a rare variety and not breeding them myself) This will give her a jump on her breeding as they are already laying. Plus I always know where I can get more if I miss them.

Thanks, Bob.

Im considering crossing some heritage barred rocks this spring; I just want to be careful not to lose the laying ability of these blues. They really are little laying machines. I do need to increase size on these; I think either the heritage barreds or some show quality white rocks would be a good way to go.
