Recently hatched 10 chicks. Have 3 roosters. 2 Buff orpingtons and 1 Plymouth white rock. Have hens of both breeds too. It seems there are 2-3 barred rocks in the babies. I thought PWR rooster and hens would lead to more white rocks? Curious how I would get barred rocks with two white parents or mix white and buff?? Ideas??

Well, I don't see any barred chicks in that line up.., am I missing them?

White can be recessive or dominant.. and hide things underneath if dominant.. and or only being white when 2 copies are present if recessive.

I'm with you.
Hatched 10 chicks. I'm counting 11 chicks and none even close to looking like a barred rock
My white Plymouth Rocks were recessive white with barring underneath so I could see it coming out from crossing birds where only one carried RW.

I’ll get new pictures this afternoon. The really light yellow ones are now starting to show batting on their wings

Here’s some baby pics. See the ring feathers

Are you talking about the wing feathers? If so, that’s not barring. Chicks of many colors get that kind of patterning in their first feathers. It molts out when the next set grows in. I assume it’s a kind of baby camouflage to help protect them from predators while they’re so small and vulnerable.
