i looking at over 100 in my backyard(BIG backyard). the most imortant rule of raising ducklings is water 24/7. if ducklings go without water too long they get stressed and dehydrated. when you give them water after this has happened they will drink themselves to death. literally. they will gorge on the fresh water until it is gone. at this time, due to an electrolyte imbalance or shock or both from the sudden rehydration, they will stargaze in a 360 degree motion usually after they fall onto their backs. struggling to get up and death follows quickly thereafter. i'm not trying to scare you, its just that i ve seen it happen to too many people my self included. just take my word for it, if you have to go out of town, make sure you have a reliable person water your ducklings while you are gone.
