Plz help me save my chicken!

Yes I'm talking to this hen like she's a baby, I guess she is at the moment. She can't peck but I was sitting with her in my arms last night and coaxed her by putting her beak in the bowl I was holding up for her and she started takin it herself so I was pretty happy about that. She's still hanging her head when I put her down. I just hope my efforts are helping her and she gets better. I'm praying she doesn't die!

Rats are active at night, and it happened at night, so that makes sense.

I think it looks more like that then anything so you may be right. I've had some rats around my rooster cage so it is possible. So if I keep her drinking and eating she should recover from that...right? I have a friend that insist it's racoon but I don't think so. Your thoughts...possible coin??

I don't think it was a coon she would be dead And the puncture marks if you look at your picture sideways looks just like rat incisors . I have had them kill some chickens years ago . I have also had many killed by coon .
