Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. Cockerels usually start crowing from 4-5 months old but sometimes it is considerably longer before they start crowing and on rare occasions it can be nearly a year. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Cheers.

secondary roosters usually do not crow in the presence of the Alpha roo, because he might beat the stuffings out of him. If your older roo was out of the picture, I'm sure the young one would find his voice.

Welcome to BYC Roosterlover.

I agree with DD if the roos are together the younger one may just be staying in his place. There is only ever 1 Alpha at the top.

Do you have hens as well? or just the roos?

Thanks for joining us, it's nice to have you here!

Welcome to BYC! I love roosters too. I wish they laid eggs and didn't attack. I'd have a bunch of them.
