polarity reverser

Hi Guy's I am retrofitting an incubator for auto turn from semi .My problem is insufficient knowledge of electronics and I need some form of auto switch to combine these units to reverse the motor polarity for every second turn ,this is one unit I have found but I'm not sure if it is what I need or if it will work in conjunction with my other parts? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/281181038050?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 It has also been suggested that I need a DPDT switch or maybe a bank of them or a programmable process controller ? buggered if I know what to use? I thought I could run a couple of micro switches but apparently not? At the moment it is a 1350 egg bator but I will be reducing the size to 1000 eggs so I can fit a shelf at the top and work the design the same as a Multiquip/Multiplo or if need be I could fit a draw wall as in a sportsman.Any and all thoughts and suggestions would be welcome thanks in advance for your time

Thanks for the links but I already have a motor and both of the ones in your links would not handle the weight ,there would be about 70 kg of eggs plus associated rack weights to lift ,thank you for your thoughts though

the eggs will be counterbalanced, leaving 35kg or about 72 lbs. you can use a different actuator for more weight but it will cost you more money. this same setup will turn 2000 eggs with no problem. overall cost is about $75.

this is your incubator, so build it as you want. but a warning from experience, stay away from PLC's and electronics in incubators. when they fail you can never get the parts you need quick enough.

your design idea will work well, but will be costly to keep up; adding to the cost of your chicks and whole process. experience has told me simple is usually the best policy when it comes to anything farming. nature and technology are 2 different things (coming from someone who has degrees in computers and electronics) and they should not be mixed; its usually disastrous.

they should work just fine. the trick is in the mounting of them - i dont have the greatest machine tools, so i drill a hole and file it for adjustments (its not as bad as it sounds). if you have access to a mill you can cut slots to make it adjustable.

they would be better than the first- heavier contacts are typically better. where they blades are solid instead of having the slot cut typically makes a bit more force to push them - but they usually dont wear out as fast.
