Hopefully, what time of day did you set them? I generally hear peeping before they pip.

I set them in the afternoon and can you usally hear the peeping when they are in the incubator or do you have to hold the egg to your ear

Mine are under hens. I can hear it when standing near them. Maybe incubator eggs don't cheep because no one us there to cheep back? Broody hens talk to their eggs.
