Thank you for the advice!I had 2 polish hens who had their head feathers picked out at separate times for most of their 3-4 years of life in a mixed flock. It started when they were a few months old. Each time, I sprayed BluKote on the bloody head every other day until the feathers grew back in over a month or so. If I didn't the others would pull out the new feather shafts as they grew in. On girl was almost scalped once by an aggressive cockerel, and hers was treated with plain Neosporin ointment for several days (while isolated,) and then the BluKote regime for a month. Unfortunately I lost both to predators at different times. They are sweet birds that everyone loved, but the crests definitely are a problem.
