Polish chicken - tolbunt and gold laced

Hiya folks

I have some gold laced and tolbunt chicks growing out right now. I have one confirmed roo in each group and I think I would like to rehome the gold laced rooster and keep the Tolbunt.

My question is can I breed a tolbunt rooster to a gold laced hen and maintain the mottled gene? Or do i have to breed tolbunt to tolbunt?

Gold laced bred to Tolbunt will produce gold laced birds that carry one copy of the mottled gene. You can breed the splits back to Tolbunt which will get you Tolbunt chicks and more gold laced split to mottled.

Is it possible to phase out the mottling gene ? If I keep breeding back to gold laced ?
I don’t need tolbunt but it’s the only way I can get frizzle genes into my gold laced where I live.
