Crested poultry just come with health issues that are common among these breeds.

Crest mites, brain infection, bumblefoot and Eye infections.

Their feathers poke the eyes causing infections. Try a clean warm compress on the eyes to moisten and clean, then apply some Terramycin ointment, daily till the eyes heal.

You will also have to check the feet regularly to make sure there are no injuries that can progress into bumblefoot.

It seems all beautiful things require maintenance. And, she is such a beauty!

God Bless!:)

Do you have polish? If you have had crusty eyes how did you treat it I can’t find anything when I searched it up

If you see watery or foamy eyes, those can leave crusts, and may be from mycoplasma gallisepticum (MG.) MG is a respiratory disease that causes sinus infection. It is spread by carriers, either other fowl or wild birds. Birds who are affected are carriers for life. Other signs can be sneezing or gasping, and a swollen eye.
