Polish chickens can’t see through large crest

Hi! I’m sure this question has been asked a million times... But my polish pullets are getting very full crests and don’t seem to be able to see. They keep on running into me! I would rather not cut their feathers, is a ponytail/headband an option? I’ve seen ponytails on silkies but they have different feathering. Is it okay to leave them be, or should I be doing something? Here is Earl (I know I know) the silver laced polish pullet:

I recently cut my polish chick's hair and poor thing is now having a BAD hair day. I regret doing it BUT it did make a difference.
