Polish chickens in deplorable condition

UPDATE: I put the polish and the 3 American game hens in with my existing flock. One of the polish has made friends with my norweigen jaerhon they are always together. Their top hats are coming back slowly but surely and 2 of the polish are now laying, sometimes in the nest box sometimes hides them. Another of the polish seems to have appointed herself guard of the nesting boxes and gives the other hens lots of encouragement when they are laying. Best of all they do not get picked on by my hens and they love to be outside, they have meshed wonderfully with my existing flock. The 3 AGH chickens don't like to be confined what so ever and they do their own thing sometimes foraging, visiting the barn or garage or just laying around one of the recreational vehicles we have given up trying to put them back where they belong. None of them are laying as I haven't found an egg yet. For some odd reason the girls are lining up for one nest box, there were 5 eggs in one today with a white rock and a BO sitting on them, again in the same box hmmm. I am pleased that the rescued girls appear to be happy. Thanks for reading...:D

What wonderful news! Sounds like they are enjoying life and rewarding you for your efforts. May they have a good chicken life from now on.

I am so happy to hear the good news!

I have a vested interest in what is going on with your white crested black polish, it's the ones hubby wanted me to get so I've stared with 10 chicks of them. I was concerned the feathers on your birds heads would not grow back and its good to know they are and how resilient the white crested polish are. I can make a few mistakes and know they will eventually forgive me and be happy chickens

.

I also have 10 splash cochin because I read in several places that the white crested black polish are not very good brooders. I would like to start hatching eggs for the white crested next spring and loved the beautiful pictures of the splash cochin. According to Cackle they are good brooders. So I have hope for many white crested black polish in the future.
We have noticed that the white crested are feathering much faster then the splash cochin I am assuming this is breed. I know it's not size because the splash cochin are easily twice the size of the white crested they are large birds and it shows in their chick size.
I love being a chickie mommy

congrats on all your hard work it has paid off well.

Thanks, my only mission was to get these girls in a normal environment. I cannot handle any animal being neglected. I have space, food, and love and that's what it seems these girls needed.. so far so good with my ladies.

UPDATE: One of the polish seems to have gone broody:), I gave her 5 eggs to sit on to see if she is totally committed before I give her some fertile eggs. She gets all puffed up and yells at me in her chicken lingo. All of the polish are laying and surprisingly they have moved right up in the pecking order. The AGH do whatever they want, they refuse to be in any type of enclosure. The 3 Alicia we call them, gratefully they stay in the yard and for sure one is laying and its like an Easter egg hunt everyday trying to figure out where she hid her eggs each day lol. The amigos are very loud with their squakin and roost in the rafters of the barn at 6 pm every night.
The 4 RIR chicks are doing fantastic and growing like weeds all of them appear to be pullets :D.
The feathers still have not grown back on the polish just a few sparse ones maybe after they molt :(. So everyone is doing great, I may have to regime the amigos If I have problems keeping them in the yard but so far so good, knock on wood, ;). Thanks for caring. :)

Darn spell check, not Alicia we call the game hens the 3 amigos. The other correction is rehome not regime. Thanks
