Polish Chickens - Pullet/Cockeral

And to clarify - I am certainly not a polish breeding expert. I am still very much learning about genes, and we are starting to get a bit more serious about it, but right now we basically breed like varieties based on desired traits.
Essentially, the ticket on a Polish is the crest for both sexes. Males, you want kind of a Cindy Lauper look with long skinny feathering that blows in the wind, and females you need to be able to style them like a ball on their Head - they have to be very full. So right now, we are really just trying to get a flock of really nice, crested birds - then we will work on the other stuff.
I’m quickly becoming in love with the breed and these two are quite a duo. I really appreciate your input!

And to reiterate I’m perfectly fine with them both turning into roosters - we have 20 chickens total so these two should be okay.

The thing that throws me off is the mannerisms. Is it common for one to take charge. The buff will “herd” all of them around including the white crested. And the white crested hangs with all the others quite a bit while the buff is off on his own a lot.

If anything I'm adding to the amount of polish pictures on the internet lol.

I always think behaviors are influence most by environment. But, in terms of cockerels here, they really aren't smart or assertive. As a matter of fact, I'd put them at the bottom of the intelligence totem pole - really, really dumb.

So maybe you have something going the pullet direction there.

Pics from yesterday and today. Do the wattles (sp) on the white crested come in/turn red later?

About 9 1/2 weeks now. I’m so excited to see how this buff turns out. I’m almost wondering if he won’t be more white than buff when he is grown.

Ohhhhh - white crested just might be a pullet!

I can't see the feathering on the buff too well. If you get a picture of his back I can probably get a better look. Like from up top.

wattles (sp)
This is spelled correctly. There are people here who will skewer you if you spell it wa-DD-les ... (ahem)... so watch yourself.

Sometimes slower coming in. But in general this one isn't really maturing as I'd expect it to. Don't know - back to the toss up board, learning more cockerel for me.

It’s getting hard to hold them one handed so sorry the pics may not be the best. Tweety is impossible to pick up he’s too quick and doesn’t like snacking out of my hand.
