Polish Chickens!!!!

Awe, so sorry. I had a Polish name "Zebra" and 1 day went out and he had died. I know how sad it is.

Hello new to polish breed. I've a small assorted flock of 16 including silkies and one lone Welsummer Roo that was a gift for my sweet supportive hubby. I have 7 Tolbunt Polish (started w/10 eggs) growing in my incubator. They will have their own new coop just for that breed. Hoping to have some new little cheaps around day 21 this Friday and some pics to share.

I have had this cute little white crested black polish hen for five years, ever since I bought her at a flea market. She has been a great hen. I don't know how old she is, but I she still lays some eggs and I would like to get some chicks off her before she goes to the big hen house in the sky. My question is, where is the best place to get a rooster for her? Thanks

Have you looked in the buy-sell-trade section of BYC? There are a lot of people who may be willing to part with a rooster.

I have 5 polish chicks. They are my first polish ever. Just got them a week ago and they're still in the brooder. One little girl, Cinnamon, just isn't growing as fast as the others. Is this normal? I've only had 2 batches of chicks before and this didn't happen. Do I have to giver her some sort of special care? Or is she just going to be small?

My son is even afraid to go feed and play with the babies because he's afraid he'll find her dead. Someone tell me what I should do!

Well 2wks old my little hatched out Tolbunt Polish show no sign of being a frizzle :( but they are healthy and very active. Looking forward to spring when I can find more Tolbunt eggs to incubate so they have buddies. Plans for their own coop are swirling in my head so they will not be picked on by my main flock. I think it is a little sad when folks have soooo many chickens (commercial poultry) that they can't enjoy their unique personalities and beauty. My Dear Hubby shakes his head when I take my little stool in to the main coop and sit with my chickens. I cheap cheap to them and they cheap cheap back. My lead and oldest set are 2 EE Bossy & Flossie who both think my lap was made just for them to sit on while being stroked. Hubby said he never saw chickens acting like dogs lol.

i am going to get polish chickens in the spring

Question..Are Tolbunts and other Polish chickens considered "bantam size"? I am trying to purchase numbered leg bandetts. They come in #7 (7/16") fits most Bantam breeds, #9 (9/16") fits most standard breed hens, #11 (11/16") fits most standard roosters and #12 fits large roosters. I have Polish hens and roos. I am lost as to which size is the right to purchase, any clues?
