Polish Chicks

I have been wanting to start a thread on "show quality" birds ... maybe I could just ask it here. I have some wcb polish 4 of them and what should I look for to be show quality? I am afraid I would only be entering any of my chicks into the fair. I dont have the time for any other things.. the kids are too involved in sports. So as for "fair quality" what does it mean? I am new to chicken worlds but I think my girls are adorable.. I think mine are all girls I havent really looked at their heads much but I have been watching their tails. they are very girl looking.

I think first off, they should be free of obvious defects like missing toes, lopsided poof, etc. Then I would compare them to the others you may have; does it look better than them? That's a start, anyway.

Opinion please...now I am wondering. Roberta seems very docile, never butted chests with our roo, loves to hang out with people. And nonchalant about new chicks around her.
This was her about a week ago, maybe a little longer...so she would be 6 weeks in the picture.

Is this a joke? I'm sorry if I upset you by saying I think Lefty is a male.

Oh, gosh....I sure didn't intend to sound offensive at all! I'm so sorry that didn't come out right! I was simply saying I appreciated any comments, that's all. Even if it isn't what I'd prefer to hear. LOL

I'm the one that didn't want to offend YOU! We all want females, LOL. Your Polish are really nice!

Hey all! Just wanted to give a brief update. Pancho was one roo too many for us, so he went to live with a friend of ours who has Cochins, Delaware, Sussex and a Leghorn. All these roos seem to be attracted to the BIG girls! LOL

After Pancho moved out, Knobby and Lefty became loners. My other girls were pestering them terribly and Knobby even took to sleeping outside the hen house on a cinderblock all alone. I felt so bad for them! One call to my friend who took Pancho and she agreed Knobby and Lefty could come live with them.

Today was moving day. I hadn't seen Pancho since he moved out and he's HUGE compared to what he looked like 3 weeks ago. Based on the fact that he's definitely a cockerel, my money's on Lefty being a pullet. Both Knobby and Lefty are tiny little delicate creatures compared to Pancho.

Thanks, everybody for your input!!

Edited because I've lost the power of spelling tonight. If this is any indication, it's going to be a long week! LOL
