I knew it was a possibility that mixing breeds with the crested varieties could result in pecking issues, but when I had a polish before she was never picked on by the bigger girls. Today my son noticed that one of our two polish cresteds was bleeding on her head. She (and the rest of the flock) are 3.5 weeks old. What can I put on her to help her? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

When my polish was picked on...same thing, bloody head, I sprayed her crest and wound with blue kote. For some reason, they found her white crest upsetting but when I colored it purple, they left her alone!

Thanks for your replies! So leadwolf1, if I keep her pompom a different color all the time she should be ok? What kind of dye did you use? I would certainly try it. It's funny, the cresteds were the ones pecking everyone else when we first got them home, and now out of the two we have, it's just one of them that is getting paybacks ( as my husband says).

I used blue kote..it's an antibiotic spray that turns everything, and I mean everything, purple. I used it on her booboo from the others pecking her and it worked like a charm to stop them from messing with her. I don't know why, but it worked :) You can find it at tractor supply. I sprayed her poof purple and let it slowly grow out. By that time, they didn't mess with her anymore.
