Polish Crested

I have 3 polish bantam hens and one roo. They are great little birds and are friendly. The hens think they are a lot bigger then what they really are. I watched one of the hens "chest bump" one of my peahens over some treats I gave them.

The roo is in a pen by himself - his crest is a prime target & he will stand there and let the hens pick at him. He finally has a full head of feathers again.

This is my polish hen, Pepper, at about 6 months old now. She is very friendly and loves just sitting in your lap. She runs free-range with 2 banties, 5 standards and a guinea.

Good lookin birds, I'm glad I got them. I was wondering, I have two that have 5 toes on each foot, is that normal? They came from the local farm supply store and are a mixed bag, but I've never had a chicken with 5 toes...hmmm. Here are a couple of pics of them, Buttercup is camera shy and Huggy Bear is a camera hog

Question, when you abbreviate WCB which White Crested are you referring to?
Is it White Crested Black, White Crested Blue or White Crested Buff?

Cute close up!

If they have 5 toes, they are Houdans, which are similar to Polish.

Thanks, I looked it up and two are Houdans, cool. The yellow one has furry feet, is this something that Polish have? Also, is there any way to tell hens and roos at this age or if they are banties? Sorry for all of the questions guys, but I'm new to this breed, thanks for the help.

Is the one with feathered feet all yellow and 5 toed? If so, it's most likely a Sultan. Another bird similar to the Polish (and my personal favorite).

Hard to tell if they're banties or LF from discription or even comparison. But if you have Houdans in there, and they're all around the same size, I would hazard a guess at large fowl. You don't see too many bantam Houdans come out of feed stores.

You have no way of knowing gender at this point. And crested birds are notoriously difficult to sex young. You'll be waiting a few months before you know for sure.
