Polish experts - chick color?

I thought I had a buff laced chick since that's the only light down polish that Ideal carries.

Three weeks later s/he looks like this.

Right now the feathers have white tips followed by black then reddish coming in.

Any guesses?

Yes, I would have thought buff laced too. Definitely not, though. Looks very pretty!

I thought so too, but Ideal doesn't carry that variety and the down wasn't the right color :/ It would be cool if a Tolbunt egg got mixed in with the eggs from one of their breeders' farms, though! I usually don't keep any crested chicks but I'm hanging onto this one at least until I can see what color it is.

I got some from Ideal in Feb this year that looked exactly the same. They ended up being Red Crested Reds after their first molt. Some had some off colored leakage as well.

Thank you. I was wondering if white crested red or red red might be it but the extra colors threw me off lol
