I have two golden laced polish, 6 weeks, and one has a longer tail while the other has a shorter one with almost a V shape to it. They are both supposed to be pullets their head feathers look the same. Is one a boy and one a girl? Or do they somehow just have different tails? I have tried googling but haven't found any answers.

:welcome Tail growth can vary from bird to bird even within the same breed. 6 weeks is way too early for gender ID, but rounded/fuller crests generally indicate pullet; whereas, cockerels tend to have spikey crests.

6 weeks is plenty of time for gender ID, but most birds (male and female) will have a varieying body and feather style.
