*****Polish hen/chick wanted in Maine*****

i can pick up the chick from shay and bring it to oxford with me for the swap, that works for all?? let me know. i am the person that you emailed today, this is so confusing lol

Meyer Hatchery ships a minimum of 3 chicks and we got our order of 8 today. 3 of which were Polish and after just one afternoon of bonding with them, they are already friendly and I'm positive they will make great pets. I recommend them.

Edited To Add: They sex all of their chicks except for bantams.

I DID email you-but in regards to your reply to my post. I think I sent an email to someone else too that Spook said was comming to the Oxford chickenstock with Polishes....This IS so confusing LOL!

....so you are in NH but are offering to pick the polish up from Shay who is in MA and meet me in Oxford? Am I following the story now? Maybe I'm still confused...I can't see you going out of your way to do that for me- ! Especially when there may be Polishes already there(and for sale)?

I am thinking maybe I should wait until the Oxford meet and see who brings what...? (I think a frizzle polish would be neat LOL). I just read into Silkie Bantams and thought they would also make an excellent therapy pet. I HATE living under an ordinance and only having room for 1 more bird- it makes it SO hard to choose.... If only I knew exactly what birds would be there this would be so much easier!

I will have to get back to you in a day or two when I find out more. Thank goodness this 'stock is over a whole month away- gives us time to carve things in stone!

Seriously everyone is great..."ask and you shall recieve!" LOL

I am glad to hear that someone thinks they are super friendly- just what I am looking for!

spook sent you to me.
in my experience , i think if i had to suggest i would go with a silkie, much calmer, but then again i have seen some crazy polish, hey wait, i just remembered, someone has to get rid of her birds and she had a child raised polish, hold on let me go search, did you say how far from me you are? i am in seabrook

Chickn-

So, mario2 ? thats YOU?

OK OK....slowly I am getting this...you can see i am still an 'new egg' here LOL....everyone knows everyone- except poor me! LOL Going to this stock will be good for me!

Ok....all I care is that the bird be: APPEALING to children/adults/elderly and for the bird be willing to interact with them I don't care if its silkie or polish

I was uncertain about wanting a 'chick' as you really never know what their personality is going to be. I raised a 1 day old RIR chick as a sole lone chick- made a pouch and wore her around my neck where ever I went (kept handwarmer packets in a pocket in the pouch) because she'd screech to high heaven if she were left alone. LOL

NOW...(she is freindly dont get me wrong), but she is flighty and spooks and squacks and would NOT make a good therapy pet! she's sooner run then stand still and let you pick her up. LOL

OY!

so my BIG thing is it needs to be social and friendly (a bring everywhere kinda bird!)

Other than that I dont care if it doesnt lay an egg a single day of its life! LOL Thats what my RIR and Comet girl are for!

yes thats me,

i would say silkie silkie silkie, they are like a stuffed animal, really sweet and interesting to say the least. will keep my eyes and ears open for you.

I agree with chickn, I think silkies are more scushy, i put it that way becouse they let you hold like a teddy bear. Polish love more to sit on the arm.

great! Thanks SO much...

If you hear of a oooober friendly Polish...otherwise I'll most likely go with a silkie. keep reading Silkies are super duper docile and 'motherly'. so perhaps I should just switch my focus to one of those.....!?

If I end up with a silkie I would like it to be a 'splash' colored. I looked them up on mypetchicken and they are so neat all marbley looking. (not to be picky!;)LOL...but like I said SO hard to choose when you can only have one)!

Think being so little it would be alright living with my RIR and Comet (and standard light brahma when I get it)?

I grew up with about 20 chickens of various common breeds but they were 'tough' - I never had a little showy thing! LOL

Maybe it can live in the house!
