Good question! well, the head crest feathers look stiff. a pullet's crest would make a nice bun. like so:

How old is your polish? Do you have a picture of the bird just stood so we can see how the tail is set please?

I don’t want to hijack your post, but I’m in the exact same position with my SL polish that started crowing this morning at the age of 9 -10 weeks old. No other indication of being male. I have a separate post with photos, but haven’t gotten much love on there.

I’m leaning cockerel on yours only because of the pointy feathers. But more pictures would be helpful! I understand chickens are camera shy though...

Hmmm, I’m still leaning cockerel. Very pretty though. .
