When I found her, I had nothing to feed her, so made the mistake of buying parrot seed at the grocery store. I don't live close to a feed store. I estimate she was about 4 mos old then. Then I ordered chicken feed, but she still wanted the parrot seed. Once she started laying eggs, I got different types of layer feed, but she wasn't having any of them. I got one type that looked like dried egg yolks as a supplement, and she just turned her beak up at that. After she went through her 1st molt, she was listless and not eating at all, so I took her to the vet. She wormed her, put her on antibiotics and I rewormed her two weeks later. The vet suggested I give her those parrot seed balls and anything else she wanted to get her to eat. She perked up and has been eating well, just won't eat the feed. She will eat parrot seed for large birds from the pet store, but picks out the cranberries and throws them on the floor. I will try the purina and try to wean her off the parrot seed, it gets expensive! She has her bowls of food, and if it spills on the floor she won't eat it then. This is her eating breakfast, has to be served on a plate. If she doesn't like something, she throws it on the floor.
