I have a 4 month old pullet polish. I'm a little concerned about the size of her crest, and if there is anything I can do to help ... So it's not only huge, but very very full and covers her eyes 100%. She is very skid ish, and not social like the other pullets (barred rock, RIR and silkie) which is fine, but she also freaks out if she realizes the other girls are not close by, screams and screams and can't find them (cause she can't see) she knows where everything is for the most part but has to follow the others to find the coop. I also know they should like roosting, but I don't know if she's too young or just can't see the poles.I'm not sure how she will ever see it to hop up and even know its there. I just feel really bad about her lack of sight and don't know if I can do anything to help or if I'm over reacting. Again ... Her sight is not limited, the feathers actually cover her eyes compleatly. She's beautiful but blind.

If her crest is causing problems, you can trim it so that she can see. With a crest as full as you describe, she is very vulnerable to predators.
