Out of desperation I need to downsize. I need a small & quiet...not silent ......but relatively quiet few hens.
I currently have 1 year old silkies singing their lovely hearts out every early AM much to my neighbors dismay. They are announcing their eggs but in NYC it isn't easy ....I am getting frowns from my neighbors. Hee that means a complaint and they are then GONE.
I notice that my 1 year old Polish hen (who lays almost every day)doesn't say a word....is really quiet and friendly. I am thinking of going Polish and perhaps a couple of Sultans.
What say ye people? Any opinions are greatly appreciated.
