So, this guy came to me from a local guy who does a lot of chicken swaps/trades. He was 3 weeks when I got him and has been hand raised. Already having Polish, I knew his comb was developing into a strange shape for the breed. He has all the Polish traits aside from the comb. Where could the butterfly comb came from? I am not complaining about his unique comb, just curious.

I would suspect he is part Sicilian Buttercup

It is also possible he got a copy of a single comb gene, which, combined with the V comb, would possibly produce that.

polish and sicilian buttercups are both V comb. the main difference is that buttercups are bred to have combs that connect very well and to be on the larger size while polish give up comb size to make more space for growing their crest.
basically Im saying he could very well be pure polish, he just has some slight variances in other genes that have pushed his crest back and gave him more room to grow his comb!
ofcourse he could still be a cross its just that his comb type (and crest) is probably genetically correct out of the list of known genes.
