Half brother? Which parent do they share, and what other parent is involved?Another update: his half-brother returned, and also has the split comb!
I named him Candy Corn. Aside from being an automatic DQ for breeds with SOPs, are there any health drawbacks to split combs for long-term breeding projects? Like, would this eventually result in two-headed chicks?I kinda like the way it looks, and the extra surface area would help with our hot summers here. Casper has turned into a bit of a turd now that he's hit roo-berty, but Candy Corn is still nice, just a little dumb and shy around people.
I do not know of any health issues with the split comb. V-shaped combs exist in some breeds, mostly ones with crests, and Buttercup combs are also split. I have not heard of health issues with them.
